VidFix repairs broken, unplayable, and corrupted video files in minutes. Repair online from any device, or download the app for unlimited offline use on Mac & Windows.
How it works
VidFix automatically diagnoses the corruption and applies the right fix — no settings to tweak.
Drag your corrupted video onto VidFix. It works with files from any camera — Sony, Canon, GoPro, DJI, and more.
VidFix scans the file and identifies the exact type of corruption — missing index, truncated data, AVI damage, and more.
The right repair is applied automatically. Your recovered file is saved to the same folder, original untouched.
Open the recovered file directly in Finder. No quality loss, no re-encoding unless absolutely necessary.
What we fix
Whether your file won't open, plays without audio, or got cut short mid-recording — VidFix handles it.
The most common camera corruption. Happens when a recording is interrupted before the file index is written.
Files cut short by a failed transfer, full storage card, or interrupted copy. VidFix recovers whatever was written.
Broken index tables that prevent AVI files from seeking or playing correctly. Rebuilt automatically.
Byte-level damage, codec mismatches, and container errors. VidFix tries multiple repair strategies automatically.

FAQ
What cameras does VidFix work with?
VidFix works with footage from any camera that records to standard video formats — Sony, Canon, Nikon, GoPro, DJI drones, iPhone, Android, and more. If it records MP4, MOV, AVI, or MKV, VidFix can attempt a repair.
Does VidFix modify my original file?
Never. VidFix always writes the repaired version as a new file with "_fixed" appended to the name. Your original file is never touched.
What if it can't recover my video?
Some files are too severely damaged to recover — if the raw video data itself is missing or overwritten, no software can bring it back. For the $2 online repair, we'll let you preview the result before charging. For the app, you can test on a file before purchasing.
Why does moov atom recovery need a reference file?
When a camera's file index (moov atom) is missing, VidFix needs a healthy video from the same camera to understand the file structure. Any other clip from the same camera works — even a short one.
Does the Mac app work without internet?
Yes, completely. Both the Mac and Windows apps run 100% offline — all required tools are bundled inside. No internet needed after download. The online repair service works from any browser on any device.
It takes two minutes. Your video might still be there.
